The BeAM Network of Maker Spaces

BeAM@CAROLINA is a network of makerspaces where you can join the UNC maker community in the design and making of physical objects for education, research, entrepreneurship and recreation. You can participate in open studios, training sessions, workshops, hosted classes and group activities. Enjoy spaces equipped with emerging technologies like 3D printing as well as wood and metalworking shops.

You have many free workshops to choose from, and will enjoy on-site support in 3D printing, laser cutting and electronics, as well as woodworking and metalworking. If you are a faculty member, you will have our support in integrating making into your classroom.

BeAM Design Innovation Hub

The BeAM Design Innovation Hub is a unique resource for design and fabrication assistance. Our mission is to facilitate and complement research of all types by providing services in a wide range of disciplines, including: engineering consultation, design, fabrication, and prototyping. The Design Innovation Hub proudly supports research initiatives in the BeAM MakerSpaces.

CHANL

CHANL, the Chapel Hill Analytical and Nanofabrication Laboratory, was established in 2006 as part of the Institute for Advanced Materials, Nanoscience and Technology. Users are charged fees to recover the cost of materials, supplies, and instrumentation maintenance.
