APS Students Receive Dissertation Fellowships

Two of our students, Thomas Dombrowski and Xun Xiao, have been awarded the Dissertation Completion Fellowship from the UNC Graduate School. These fellowships support promising students in the final year of dissertation work by enabling them to focus full time on their research and completing their program of study without the obligation of a service assignment.

Thomas Dombrowski
Thomas is working with Daphne Klotsa on active swimmers and collective behavior at intermediate Reynolds numbers.

Xun Xiao
Xun is working with Jinsong Huang on understanding the unusual optoelectronic properties of perovskites for both highly efficient, stable, and low cost next generation solar cell technology. His most recent work on how charge carrier transport and recombine through ferroelastic twin boundaries in perovskite was just accepted in Nature Communications.
